The Holidays

Here I am catching up again on our lives. This week I have had Spring Break, which has been a nice relaxing time from teaching. :). I am getting closer to being all caught up with our pictures and then hopefully I can just post as things happen from day to day. But for now. . .Here are some pictures from all the holidays that Andrew and I have had together since we have been married.

Celebrating the holidays together married have been 100 times better than when we have had to be apart :).

THANKSGIVING:
We switch off holidays between my house and Andrew's house now that we are married. This year, Thanksgiving was at my house and Christmas was at his.

Yummy Turkey :)

It was a lot of fun to have the family over and to spend time with everyone we hadn't seen in a while!

CHRISTMAS:
First Christmas FINALLY married. We got BYU pj's from the Woodmans.

The family in their Christmas pj's, getting ready to load into the van to go look at lights.

Andrew's family has a tradition of renting a big van that everyone piles into to go drive around to see all of the lights. They always stop at Thanksgiving Point's lights too. So fun!

Christmas morning. Andrew was more excited than his little sister Emma (she is still in elementary and Andrew is in college :)).

We got our Wii. . .Andrew was one happy boy!

Then we went over to Dan and Jessica's to open up the rest of our presents with them. Andrew got me one of my favorite Christmas movies, Holiday Inn, and ear phones for my Ipod.

I got Andrew a coat to walk around in while on campus. (I love his big smile in this picture).

The Woodman's Christmas dinner feast :)

Deviled Eggs are a tradition that Andrew's family does every year. This has been something new for me, since my family never makes these, but they are very yummy!

We ended the night by going over to visit my family. My mom and Rick got us a video camera. I was SOOOO excited :)

Matching pj's tradition. . .getting ready for New Years Eve to come :). Kissy Kissy!

NEW YEARS:
My family always celebrates New Years Eve with lots of food, fun, and games. New Years Day is my mom's birthday so this has always been a fun holiday for us.

Happy 2013!!

VALENTINES:
Andrew had so many tests on the week of Valentines that we didn't get to celebrate the special day until Valentines weekend. We went up to Salt Lake City, stayed at a hotel on Saturday night, went to the Roof for our Valentines dinner, and went to Music and the Spoken word in the morning. It was a fun little getaway!

Valentines Dinner at the Roof!

EASTER:
Last but not least. . .Easter! It was a lot of fun to color eggs with Andrew's family and see my little nieces run around outside collecting all the hidden eggs. We were able to have two full Easter meals at both of our families houses. YUM :)

I'm finally starting to show a little bit. We can't wait for our little girl to join our family soon.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

"Firsts"

Here's another blog post that I am catching up on from the past. I am calling this our "firsts" post because it was our firsts of a lot of exciting things!

After our wedding and honeymoon, we came home and opened all our wedding presents with both of our families. We were so grateful for the many gifts we received from loving friends and family.

before opening presents

after :) (yes I still made Andrew match me)

then the fun began. . .moving into our FIRST apartment!!!

it was a lot of work, but also a lot of fun (we couldn't have done it without the help of our parents)

once we got all of our things moved in we headed off for our FIRST grocery store shopping experience together. . .we had two carts full of stuff that we needed, considering we had nothing in our fridge

we then went home and had our FIRST meal in our first apartment together

and among all the apartment moving, we were also decorating, copying papers, and getting everything ready for my FIRST day of teaching my 4th grade class :)

but we somehow pulled everything off

my FIRST day of teaching

and we finally got everything moved into the apartment!

it is small, that's for sure

i think the bathroom is the smallest part of the whole place

and there ya go! Our FIRST of starting life together :) :)

A perfect day and honeymoon!

Life has been absolutely crazy since the day we got married (which by the way, I can't believe we have already been married 5 months now :)). August 2nd was our perfect day and our honeymoon was the cruise of a lifetime. Once we got back however, life began very quickly for us. We opened wedding presents, moved into our first apartment, got my classroom all set up for my first day of teaching 4th grade, and then I started teaching while Andrew headed to his first day back at BYU.

Between Andrew's school and my work. . .you can see why I have gotten so far behind on the blog. But I have made a new years resolution to get caught up and stay caught up for us (and our friends and family).

So here's to a happy new year--2013! To begin, I thought I would backtrack to posting the pictures of our beautiful wedding and honeymoon. I love looking back at that special time in our lives. Married life couldn't be better. :)

Our Wedding Day—August 2nd, 2012:

One of our groomals, I love this picture so I wanted to post it!

Coming out of the temple as a newly married couple.

So glad my meggy-moo could be there :), I love this girl!

There was scaffolding on the temple and it was way hot outside, but we didn't care!

What a happy, happy, happy day!

I love this picture of Andrew and can't believe our photographer got it :)

Our beautiful reception!

We had an ice cream bar and a candy table. . .too bad Andrew and I didn't have any of the goodies.

I loved our gorgeous cake!

So sweet!

So funny!!

Love Nae

I love you mom, thank you for all the hard work you put in to make our day perfect!

We started off nice. . .

Our first dance. Pure happiness :)

Couldn't have been a better day!

 Our honeymoon cruise
Our Carnival Cruise Ship

Our cabin beds pushed together to make one, haha!

Where we spent a lot of our time. The big screen played the Olympics all day long!

We loved our dinners together each night. I think we gained like 20 lbs each!

First stop: Cozumel Mexico

Beautiful beaches!

Because of a tropical storm, our stops got re-arranged. We were supposed to go to Belize, Costa Maya, and Honduras. But instead we had to avoid the storm and go up to the Bahamas. Andrew and I weren't mad because we got to go to Atlantis, but a lot of people on our ship were furious with the change!

The Atlantis Resort

THE slide that goes underwater, really fast, with the sharks. It wasn't too scary, but it did scratch up our backs a little bit, haha!

haha :)

Back in Utah. I made Andrew wear our matching cruise shirts for the travel back home. He was very embarrassed on the plane and in the air ports, but he was a good sport :)!

MORE UPDATES TO COME. . .I promise!
